Thomas begins teaching the “Intro to California Central Coast Wines” the second week of September through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Duke University, a Continuing Studies program.
The class is a journey through California’s Central Coast, to explore some of its most famous wine regions: Santa Barbara County, Paso Robles, and Monterey County. Each week, the students will discover these well-known regions by tasting four wines and discussing food pairings, historical events that have impacted production, affect of climate on the grapes, most common wine styles, and the varietals that are most frequently produced.
Thomas runs two 4-week sessions for $60 each, which includes the cost of the course and the wines. Registration is open, and as of this morning, there is space available if you would like to join. We like to run capstones at the end of the class like a wine dinner or tasting event, so keep your eyes open and your palate ready!
